Out of sight... out of mind?

Five ways to stay top of mind with clients, colleagues, and potential referrers during this time of social distancing.

  1. A friend invited a group who was to attend a football match with her to join her on Zoom conferencing. We are all planning drinks & snacks to enjoy the game ‘with each other’.  Facetime / Messenger/Skype work too.

  2. Pick up the phone and have a conversation – texting is so brief and can be a little impersonal - put on a cup of tea, have a piece of cake or freshly baked biscuit (the Danish Hygge way) and have a chat.

  3. Watch a Ted Talk and share your thoughts with a friend or colleague.

  4. Help someone with their LinkedIn profile or CV – or take the time to update your own – take a new professionally styled pic and upload that too.

  5. It’s a great time to send a quick update to colleagues on your recent career developments.
Too often, people’s knowledge of our work is out of date and if they were to refer you they would be relying on old information. We can also fall into the habit of waiting until we really need their help/referrals/introductions before we update them... this way you will be top of mind when someone asks them if they know anyone with specific skills... ie yours!
