I have had the best week...one of the most rewarding simply because of what I have been doing. This week, I helped a Uni student with a cover letter for her first job, then coached her on what to expect in the interview and how to overcome nerves so she could enjoy the process. I helped a young man to unlock his purpose (and ideal job) using the Ikigai Coaching Institute certified process and what a ‘breakthrough’ (his words) it was. I edited a CV and LinkedIn page for a mentee, taught an elderly friend how to Zoom for her Uni lectures and reviewed a colleague’s Instagram for her new career. So what has that to do with my core business of business development, marketing and communications you may ask. Everything! What I did this week utilised all those skills and while these people were not major corporations or top tier law and accounting firms...the process is the same. It’s about their brand. My job is to help others understand their own strengths, skills and values and reflect back to them how they are more talented than they may currently think they are. In these times when we have all suffered economic loss, jobs or contracts that were put on hold due to COVID-19, doing something to help someone else really is the best reward...don’t you think?
